Maisie & Gordie

Size of Doll: 23 inches 

Maisie has a pinafore with a lace trimmed dress and bloomers. These clothes are removable (except her boots)

Gordie wears pants, shirt and vest with bow tie. These clothes are removable (except the shoes)

These dolls have hand sewn felt face with drawn on black eyes. The hair is black yarn which is sewn on the head.

I often get asked about how I name my dolls…in this case Maisie was named for my dear little black oriental cat, Maisie (who sadly passed on 18 months ago, and I still miss her!).  Gordie was named simply because I thought it sounded good.

Doll of the Day – Victor Golly

Victor Golly is approximately 17 inches tall and is a companion to Victoria.

Victor wears striped trousers with braces and buttons, a t-shirt and bow tie.  He has buttons on his boots.  (Clothes are not removable.)

His face is made of felt with drawn black pupils. This is handsewn to the head. The hair is knitting yarn, knotted and sewn to the head.

 Such a lovely golly. Forget those mass-produced ones, this one is hand made by me at my workroom/studio here in Christchurch.

In 2003, I published my first printed pattern, Ella, an 18 inch ballerina/fairy.  Over the next two years I continued to play with the 18 inch doll form and published a series of patterns.
